The site offers free initial join up followed by membership sign up periods of one month, three monthes or 1 year, ranging from $9.95 for 1 month to $149.95 for a full year's membership.
Also on offer is access to a live chat room, advice magazine and a blog area.
I found the site easy to navigate and the active chat room was a very good feature.

Megafriends.com
Megafriends have been in business since 2001 so are a well established company. The site was the brainwave of a married couple, Joe and Marg, who found that pressures of work and lack of time, made it almost impossible for them to make friends to have supper with, play a round of golf and such like. They realised that other sites were purely based on dating and so Megafriends was created, giving people the opportunity of finding that special someone, or couple, not only for romance but also for friendship.

I liked the site very much as it was easy to navigate and had several little "extra" features such as virtual gifts to send to help break the ice at the start of a relationship. Also there were 100 matchmaking criteria that could be filled in to really narrow your search down to a very specific person or persons that you were looking for.
